Director Sankar has officially announced that after his SUPER HIT movie 'ENTHIRAN' he will be doing a project with ILAYATHALAPATHY ' VIJAY ' , the remake of the previous hit 3 Idiots which is named as 3 Rascals. Vijay, Jeeva and Ileana D'Cruz have been signed up for lead roles while the rest of the cast is yet to be finalized. But the movie cast and crew hasn’t yet been officialy confirmed.3 Rascals will be produced by leading producers Gemini Film Circuit, who incidentally has distributed the Hindi version Robot. At the much talked about premiere in Mumbai, Shankar was seen in conversation with the 3 Idiots team of director Raju Hirani, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Aamir Khan.Shankar wanted Madhavan to play the role he had done in the original, but the actor has made it clear that he will not be a part of it. Now the buzz is that While Vijay will play Aamir’s character in Tamil, actors Jeeva and Siddharth are expected to be cast in the other two roles though nothing has been confirmed.Telugu actress Ileana will be the female lead which was enacted by Kareena Kapoor. 3 Rascals music will be scored by Harris Jayaraj who has earlier scored music for Shankar film Anniyan in 2005 .The film will also be made simultaneously in Telugu starring a slightly different cast. Mahesh Babu will be in the leading role in Telugu. Both

According to the sources the movie name is 3 Rascals, which stars Vijay, Jeeva, Siddarth and Ileana in Tamil version and Mahesh babu, Jeeva, Siddarth and Ileana in Telugu version. Shakar also said that this movie will be completed fast, in maximum of 6 month so the release date may be expected around March or April 2011.

3 Rascals music will be scored by Harris Jayaraj who has earlier scored music for Shankar film Anniyan in 2005 .

3 Rascals cinematographer will be Manoj Paramahamsa who shot into fame with his work in Vinnauthaandi Varuvaayaa. Incidentally, Manoj earlier worked in Eeram which was produced by Shankar.

After the stupendous success of Enthiran, Director Shankar has moved on to his next project. The film is a remake of Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots titled has 3 Rascals. As per latest reports Ilayathalapathy Vijay will be playing the lead role in the movie, which was played by Aamir Khan in the original.

Mahesh Babu to play Aamir Khan role

Mahesh Babu is reportedly playing the role of Aamir Khan in remake of 3 idiots in Telugu. The film will be produced by Gemini Film Circuit. Ace director Shankar will direct it in Telugu and Tamil. Vijay will play Aamir’s role in Tamil.

Madhavan will play his role in both versions. There were also rumours of Siddharth playing the role of Sharman Joshi. So far, nothing is official.
